The Sisters of the Holy Cross have been blessed with a small but mighty band of “unsung heroes.” People who have felt a stirring within themselves to come alongside the sisters and participating in our monthly giving program. These recurring gifts truly make a difference!
Monthly giving has enabled these individuals to give more than they might have been able to in a one-time donation. And as a group they have made a greater impact than they would have alone. Their faithful giving helps even out the cash flow between our appeals, allowing our sisters to respond to critical needs at all times of the year. Best of all, the program is flexible and easy to change.

Each sister who enters the Congregation brings with her the gift of who she is, as shaped by her “growing up” family. In turn, that sister shapes the memories and decisions of the generations that follow her, including sometimes their faithful monthly contributions to the Sisters of the Holy Cross.

Flexible Gift Options
Our monthly giving program allows participants to direct all facets of their donation. Donors can choose which day of the month is best for them and can adjust, pause or end their giving at any time.
Friends in the program can also direct how their recurring gift will be used or how long they want to give. As a result, some donors use it as a tool to accomplish a specific goal. For example, when we recently needed funds for a new hostel and convent in Jatah, India, many donors established a monthly gift especially for that purpose. When that project became fully funded, some ended their monthly gift. Others continued giving, either for the ongoing needs at the hostel or for other needs. As you can imagine, all of these gifts add up to create a real value.
Every Gift has Value
Perhaps the best part of a monthly gift program is that it works for every budget. And because so many can participate, every gift is valuable, no matter the size. We think this makes it similar to prayer and service work. While there is value in one doing good work, the power really happens when we gather our efforts together.
This is the power of taking repeated steps in one direction. This is the power of joining your ongoing efforts with those of people who share the same mind, same values and same heart.
