Sister Susuma Costa, CSCSilver Jubilee — 25 years of consecrated life

Sister Susuma Costa, CSC, who currently serves as formation coordinator for the Area of Asia and as director of temporarily professed sisters in Dhaka, Bangladesh, will be honored on July 16, 2017, during a jubilee celebration in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at Saint Mary’s, Notre Dame, Indiana, for her 25 years of consecrated life as a Sister of the Holy Cross.

Sister Susuma served in pastoral ministry and taught in Brother Andre High School in Sonapur, Noakhali, Bangladesh, during her early ministry. She later conducted parish ministry and taught in the school at Corpus Christi Parish, Jalchatra, Tangail, Bangladesh, for eight years. During that time, she concurrently served six years as assistant director of vocations for Bangladesh. In 2009, Sister Susuma returned to Brother Andre High School in Sonapur, where she is currently teaching and working in parish ministry, while also serving as formation coordinator and director of temporarily professed sisters.

Sister Susuma was born in Rajason, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She pursues studies at Jnanodaya Dharmaram College in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Sister Susuma later earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Noakhali Government Mohila College, Noakhali, Bangladesh; her bachelor’s degree in education from Govt. Teachers’ Training College, Dhaka; and her Master of Arts degree from Government Ananda Mohan College, Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Sister Susuma made her initial profession of vows on December 4, 1992, and her perpetual profession on September 26, 1998.
