Sister Shilpi Rozario 2019 Silver Jubilarian

Sister Shilpi Rozario, CSC, who currently serves in parish pastoral ministry at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Bakshanagar, Dhaka, Bangladesh, will be honored on July 21, 2019, during a jubilee celebration in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at Saint Mary’s, Notre Dame, Ind., for her 25 years of consecrated life as a Sister of the Holy Cross.

Sister Shilpi served for one year as a teacher at Corpus Christi School in Jalchatra, Tangail, Bangladesh, where she also ministered for three years providing pastoral care and adult education. For four years she oversaw vocational training and served in family, youth and parish ministry in Sonapur, Noakhali, Bangladesh. For five years, Sister Shilpi provided pastoral care in 72 villages and served as an internal auditor for St. Joseph Co-Operative Credit Union in Srimangal, Moulvibazar District, Bangladesh. In Savar, Dhaka, she ministered for three years as the assistant director of candidates at Deepaneeta Convent and mentored discerners. She also served with the National Social Catechetical Training Center, Jessore, Khulna, Bangladesh. Sister Shilpi provided parish ministry at St. Paul’s Church, Pirgacha, Tangail, before entering her current pastoral ministry role in January 2019.

Sister Shilpi was born in Boro Santanipara, Bangladesh. Before entering the Congregation, she worked as a teacher’s aide. Sister Shilpi pursued studies at Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram, Bangalore, Karnataka, India, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in theology from Jyoti Nivas College, Bangalore. Sister Shilpi made her initial profession of vows on December 2, 1994, and her perpetual profession on September 22, 2001.
