
25 years of consecrated life
Sister Parboti Gomes, CSC, who currently serves as a councilor for the Area of Asia and as candidate director for the Sisters of the Holy Cross formation house in Shillong, Meghalaya, India, will be honored on July 16, 2017, during a jubilee celebration in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at Saint Mary’s, Notre Dame, Indiana, for her 25 years of consecrated life as a Sister of the Holy Cross.
Sister Parboti taught health education at Neerala Convent, Kulaura, Moulvibazar District, Bangladesh, during her early ministry. She later worked in parish ministry in Sonapur, Noakhali, Bangladesh, and for four years she taught religious and health education and served as parish visitor at St. Joseph’s Church, Srimangal, Moulvibazar District. She has served in her current role in religious formation for the Congregation for nine years.
Sister Parboti was born in Balidior, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary’s College, Shillong, Meghalaya, India. Sister Parboti made her initial profession of vows on December 4, 1992, and her perpetual profession on September 3, 1999.
