Sister Mrinalini Goretti Rema, CSC, who currently serves in the ministry of prayer in Tejgaon, Dhaka, Bangladesh, will be honored on July 21, 2019, during a jubilee celebration in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at Saint Mary’s, Notre Dame, Ind., for her 25 years of consecrated life as a Sister of the Holy Cross.
Sister Mrinalini served in parish ministry, teaching literacy courses and providing home communion services, for nearly two years in Sonapur, Noakhali, Bangladesh. She continued her ministry of pastoral care in Jalchatra, Tangail, Bangladesh, where she also served as a school inspector. For 17 years Sister Mrinalini shared her gifts as a teacher at Corpus Christi School in Jalchatra. During this time, she also led Corpus Christi parish’s Legion of Mary group, which counsels families affected by alcoholism, and served as convener of the Holy Child program and supervisor of the girls’ hostel. In Bakshanagar, Dhaka, she facilitated the local Legion of Mary group and led sacramental and catechism classes. Sister Mrinalini entered her ministry of prayer in August 2018.
Sister Mrinalini was born in Boroukuna Netrakuna, Bangladesh. Before entering the Congregation, she worked as a pre-school teacher. Sister Mrinalini studied at Tejgaon College, Dhaka; Barisal Government Women’s College, Barisal, Bangladesh, and Jnanodaya Dharmaram College, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Sister Mrinalini made her initial profession of vows on December 2, 1994, and her perpetual profession on September 22, 2001.
