Celebrating 25 years of consecrated life as a Sister of the Holy Cross

Sister Monju Corraya, CSC, who currently serves as director of Holy Cross Students’ Hostel, Tejgaon, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and as director of an APON outreach center for individuals dealing with drug addiction in Mirpur, Dhaka, will be honored on July 15, 2018, during a jubilee celebration in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at Saint Mary’s, Notre Dame, Indiana, for her 25 years of consecrated life as a Sister of the Holy Cross.
Sister Monju served in several communities in Bangladesh, including Sonapur, Noakhali, Chittagong, where she served in pastoral ministry for the Chittagong Diocese, and Jalchatra, Madhupur, Tangail, where she worked with the Mymensingh Diocese, engaging in pastoral ministry and family visitation and supervising the primary school.
Sister Monju served in similar ministry at St. Joseph Church, Srimangal, Moulvibazar; and with the Diocese of Sylhet, Moulvibazar. She also taught at National Social Catechetical Training Centre, Jessore, Bangladesh. Sister Monju has served in her current roles at Holy Cross Students’ Hostel and APON’s Outreach and Drop-In Center since 2005.
Sister Monju was born in Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She studied theology at Jnanodaya Dharmaram College, Bangalore, Karnataka, India, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Mohammadpur Mohila College, Dhaka.
She earned her Master of Arts from Tejgaon College, Dhaka. Sister Monju made her initial profession of vows on December 10, 1993, and her perpetual profession on September 3, 1999.
