Celebrating 50 years of consecrated life as a Sister of the Holy Cross

Sister M. Jean Ann (Smith), CSC, who currently serves as a member of the support staff at Capital Park Family Health Center in Columbus, Ohio, will be honored on July 15, 2018, during a jubilee celebration in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at Saint Mary’s in Notre Dame, Indiana, for her 50 years of consecrated life as a Sister of the Holy Cross.

Sister Jean Ann served in areas of student personnel at the The Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington, Maryland, for eight years. She also worked as an admissions counselor for three years at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana.

For 17 years, Sister Jean Ann shared her gifts as Director of Volunteer Services for Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. She has served in her current position since 2005.

Sister Jean Ann was born in Toledo, Ohio, and worked as an assistant at a dental office before entering the Congregation.

She earned an associate degree from Cardinal Cushing College and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland.

Sister Jean Ann made her initial profession of vows on August 15, 1968, and her perpetual profession on August 6, 1973.
