Celebrating 25 years of consecrated life as a Sister of the Holy Cross

Sister Kolpona Costa, CSC, who currently serves as secretary of the Area of Asia Leadership Team and as administrator and teacher at Holy Cross Girls’ High School, Tejgaon, Dhaka, Bangladesh, will be honored on July 15, 2018, during a jubilee celebration in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at Saint Mary’s, Notre Dame, Indiana, for her 25 years of consecrated life as a Sister of the Holy Cross.
Sister Kolpona served in parish ministry at Neerala Convent, Kulaura, Moulvibazar District, Bangladesh. She later moved into education, and has been teaching for 18 years, first at Brother Andre School, Sonapur, Noakhali; then at Corpus Christi High School, Jalchatra, Tangail; and currently at Holy Cross Girls’ High School, Tejgaon.
Sister Kolpona was born in the village of Charakhula, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana.
She also earned her teaching diploma from Noakhali Teachers’ Training College, Noakhali, Chittagong, Bangladesh. Currently, Sister Kolpona is completing her master’s degree in economics.
Sister Kolpona made her initial profession of vows on December 10, 1993, and her perpetual profession on September 22, 2001.
