A New Logo for Sisters of the Holy Cross
In 2025, leadership commissioned an internal team to develop a new logo for the Sisters of the Holy Cross. Why, you might ask? Because our existing logo artwork, developed in 1995, had become challenging to use across a variety of formats.
To begin, the team began conversations with sisters and staff that carried well into 2026. Their goal was to envision a new logo that would reflect who we are and the mission we carry forward.
Today, we are excited to introduce our new congregational logo. It is a visual expression of our identity, faith and commitment to serving global communities.

Capturing Faith, Compassion and Hope for the World
The new logo now showcases elements from our most iconic symbols. It also captures the compassion and hope we embrace as we carry out our service in the world. Each icon tells a story:
- Cross — Our Foundation
The cross represents our foundation as Catholic women religious and the faith that guides our ministries. It is the center of our motto: Ave Crux, Spes Unica (Hail the cross, our only hope). - Heart — Compassion
The heart symbolizes our compassion. Its broken and open design is intentional. It reflects our willingness to be present to the world’s suffering, remain open to others, and respond with love. - Anchor — A Hope That Holds Us
The anchor is an ancient Catholic symbol of hope; drawn from our congregational seal, it reminds us of the hope that sustains us and the faith that grounds our mission. - Globe — Care for All Creation
The simplified globe represents our internationality and our global commitment to caring for creation and serving communities across the world.

A New Expression of Our Lasting Mission
While our logo is new, our mission and the values that guide us remain at the heart of who we are. This icon connects our history, our faith and our ongoing call to compassionate service.
We invite you to join us in embracing this new symbol as we continue to walk together in hope, care for one another, and work toward a more just and sustainable world.
