Joy filled the community of Moreau Nursery and Primary School in Kirinda, Uganda, on March 25, 2017, as the long-awaited construction of two hostels kicked off. Since its opening in 2008, the school has provided not only an education for children near and far, but sisters and staff have taught the importance of dependence on God and bringing prayer into everything we do.

The school is in a rural area, which means it takes great physical effort for many of the students to get to school each day. During the rainy season the roads are so bad that only motorcycles can travel on them. Sometimes as many as four or five students travel to school on a motorcycle built for one driver and one rider. Daily trips like these place students in danger. Some parents who live too far away to travel to school each day board their children with strangers who live closer to the school, which also can pose safety concerns.

We are so thankful to be building these hostels, which will provide safe, nurturing environments where students can live and study. Having a boarding school option will allow many children to attend school regularly and focus on their studies.

We continue to pray for the successful completion of the construction of these new hostels, which will help so many students. May God continue to reward those who are supporting Moreau Nursery and Primary School in Uganda.
