Following on the heels of last year’s billboards, the Sisters of the Holy Cross are again posting Gospel messages that encourage and promote loving and compassionate relationships. Intended to “Share the WORD,” the signs include sentiments from the previous campaign plus two new messages: “Be Kind to One Another,” and “Love Your Neighbor.” All of them also appear on the sisters’ free prayer cards.
“This messaging,” says Congregation President Sister Sharlet Ann Wagner, CSC, “reminds us to live into our shared humanity. To see others, their hurts and joys, and to honor and care for one another as children of God.”
Hoping to spread these Gospel messages beyond South Bend and Mishawaka, the sisters are asking others to “Share the WORD.” Snap a photo of yourself and/or others with the billboards or prayer cards. Then share it with us by tagging the Sisters of the Holy Cross and using the hashtag #ShareTheWORD on Facebook and Instagram.

August 10–September 6: Lincolnway East in South Bend, just before the railroad underpass, visible to those driving east on Lincolnway
August 17–September 13: The corner of State Road 933 and Douglas Road, visible to those driving north on 933
September 7–October 4: Sample Street just west of Michigan Street South Bend, visible to those driving west on Sample
September 14–October 11: South Bend Avenue between Edison Road and Ironwood Road in South Bend, visible to those driving west on South Bend Avenue
October 5–November 1: Ironwood Road just south of Lincolnway East, visible to those driving north on Ironwood
October 26–November 22: Edison Road between Hickory Road and Grape Road, visible to those driving west on Edison
As with the previous campaign, other congregations are joining the effort with billboards in their areas. Look for them in these locales too.
