Water Flows in Uganda
Families living near the sisters’ Kyembogo Holy Cross Health Centre in Uganda awoke to a surprise one morning. They saw men digging in the streets, laying pipes and excavating channels for water. Soon, the pipes were connected, and clean water began to flow!
For this community—where the women have had to endure the hours-long task of fetching and carrying back water from a stream— fresh and easily accessible water is priceless gift. Now, with water flowing freely, the women have time to focus on their families, their farms and themselves. They can cook, clean and bathe without worrying about where the next drop of water will come from.
Filled with joy, relief and gratitude, one local woman shared this message for the sisters and the many friends who have supported this project: “You have given us a gift beyond measure. May God bless you, and may your kindness be rewarded a hundredfold!"
New Bus Provides Access to Education
Our Lady of Holy Cross School in Barkathal, India, recently celebrated the arrival of its second school bus. The school continues to grow, with more than 600 students now enrolled.
School headmistress Sister Shibanlin Nongsiej, CSC, shared this message for the donors: “Your support, it means everything to us. Because of your kindness, we are able to [provide] transportation for our students in different places. We are truly humbled by your generosity. Thank you for not only believing in our mission but for standing beside us as we work to bring it to reality. The good hearts of the donors will stay with us forever. May God bless you all.”
