In Brazil, the Sisters of the Holy Cross are making God’s love visible by walking alongside women as they build safer, more stable and more dignified lives. Through their partnership with Caritas of the Archdiocese of São Paulo (CASP), the sisters serve women facing social and economic vulnerability—many of whom are impacted by gender inequality, violence and limited access to opportunity.

In March, students and faculty from Saint Mary’s College witnessed this mission firsthand during a visit to São Paulo. Through time with the sisters and their partners—and a seminar on public policy and gender violence—they gained deeper insight into the challenges women face and the broader systems that shape their experiences.
