Volunteer Opportunities
We are eager to have you join us!
Let’s discuss your skills and interests to help match you with available volunteer opportunities with sisters on the Saint Mary’s campus.
Here are some examples of how you may choose to volunteer:
- Visit with the sisters one-on-one;
- Read to the sisters with diminishing sight;
- Write cards and letters for sisters to their family and friends;
- Manage the activity cart;
- Tutor sisters using the computer or their Kindle/NOOK e-readers;
- Coordinate special events;
- Decorate and serve at special events;
- Escort sisters to and from programs;
- Pass out juice and cookies from the juice cart;
- Lead short specialty workshops in your area of expertise;
- Take sisters in wheelchairs for a “walk”;
- Help in the sisters’ library;
- Share your personal photos with our memory care sisters;
- Volunteer to be a speaker for our Community Speaker Series and present a program about your vacation, hobby or special interest;
- Decorate rooms and hallways for the holidays;
- Drive novices for shopping in the International Shoppers Program;
- Share your animal for pet therapy;
- Play a musical instrument for the sisters;
- Lead a game of trivia questions;
- Play and organize games;
- Play cards with the sisters;
- Assist activity staff with baking and cooking projects;
- Share your artistic talents;
- Help on bus trips and outings; or
- Something else?
