The baptismal font stands in an alcove just inside the main entrance of the
parish church. Father Moreau’s parents brought him to St. Augustine’s
to be baptized as a 10-day old infant on February 21, 1799. A picture
of Father Moreau and his home is mounted on the wall behind the font,
which is still used today.
