Sister Francis Christine Alvarez received funding to provide education classes and programs to help poor and minority women and children improve their lives and face the daily challenges they encounter.

Sister Judith Anne Prindiville received funding to help provide a stipend for volunteer teachers and to purchase the supplies needed to teach English and self-confidence to sisters and priests who come from their native countries to minister in parishes in Los Angeles.
