“Justice Making in a GLOBALIZED WORLD: Challenging and Bewildering Issues with Diarmuid O'Murchu”   6 Audio CDs

These presentations will stretch your imagination, challenge your presumptions, and outline a dynamic way of living in this world.  This piece provides a starting point for understanding how humanity fits in with the Earth, with life in general and with the God who calls us to a simple, dynamic and soulful existence.  Blending science, anthropology, history, psychology, philosophy and theology, this series gives insights into the profound changes taking place in our physical environment, our political establishments, our economic structures, and our relationships with one another and God.

 

“In the Footsteps of Jesus”  

In the Footsteps of Jesus: Catholic Social Teaching at Work Today addresses the question of how God calls each of us to make a difference in the world.  The overview of the seven themes of Catholic social teaching is followed by examples of individual commitments to promoting justice and peace in the world today.   A discussion guide is available for use with the video. “Social Concern and the Teachings of the Church”

In order to help Catholics come to a clearer understanding of the social Gospel and the challenge to live that Gospel, Jim Hug, SJ, examines the themes and principles of social justice. He also reviews pastoral documents of the U.S. bishops which focus on social concern. (Jim Hug, SJ, is the executive director of the Center of Concern in Washington, D.C.)
