New candidate in Ghana
On the November 17, the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Ghana received Lydia Issah into the Candidacy program. The ceremony took place during a simple prayer service in the chapel at the Holy Cross Convent in Kasoa, Ghana.
We bloom where we are planted

Justice workshop held in Asia
Sisters, candidates and discerners from the Area of Asia participated in a Justice Committee workshop in early October at Holy Cross Convent, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The workshop was facilitated by Sister Bernadette Shilpi Rebeiro, Congregation Justice Committee representative in Bangladesh, and Sister Florence Deacon, OSF, Congregation justice coordinator.
Colégio Santa Maria students attend peace conference
Three students from Colégio Santa Maria, São Paulo, Brazil, a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, were invited to attend the first Scholas Youth Summit for Peace in Jerusalem, Israel. The main objective of the summit, was the opportunity to experience and promote a culture of relating and interconnection.
Statement regarding DACA and the Dream Act of 2017
The Sisters of the Holy Cross are deeply disappointed that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which provides work authorization and temporary protection from deportation to roughly 800,000 people who were brought to the United States as children, has been ended. Please join us in being bearers of hope by urging passage of the Dream Act of 2017.
Music, sweet music

Building education in Uganda
Moreau Nursery and Primary School in Kirinda, Uganda, is in a rural district of western Uganda where education has not always been a government priority. Educating the body, mind and soul is the sisters’ mission. The families make many sacrifices to send their children to the school. Read more about why hostels are needed to house the students.
Education in Bangladesh
Moreau Holy Cross School in Bhadun, Bangladesh, offers primary education for girls and boys. Since it opened in January 2015 the school has experienced great success.
Sister hears the gospel shouting
While her official job title is advisor to the family catechetical program in a parish in Lima, Peru, Holy Cross Sister Noylí Margot Ríos Manzo’s ministry taps deep into the needs of the entire community she serves. But she also counsels families, helping them to reconcile and work through the reality of their daily lives in light of the teachings of the Church.
